Welcome to the Northwest Immunization Conference Attendee page! Whether you are attending one, two or all three days of the Northwest Immunization Conference 2019, Immunize Oregon is excited to have you join our efforts to improve community immunity throughout the Pacific Northwest! This page is exclusively for attendees and aims to provide all the necessary details to enhance your experience during and after the conference.

FURTHERING THE VACCINE DISCUSSION & CLINICAL SKILL BUILDING

Expert plenary speakers will discuss strategies to improve provider communication around immunizations.  Educational workshops will cover vaccine program management, administration of immunizations, understanding vaccine safety, and public health advocacy.

EPIDEMIOLOGY AND PREVENTION OF VACCINE-PREVENTABLE DISEASES (PINK BOOK) COURSE

National vaccine experts from the CDC will present a two-day comprehensive review of immunization principles, vaccine recommendations and the diseases they prevent. The course will feature the most current age-appropriate immunization information from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).  August 14th will focus on Pediatric and Adolescent Immunizations while August 15th  will cover Adult Immunizations. Presenters will refer to The CDC Pink Book throughout the course which is available for download on the CDC website -or- can be purchased for $40 from the Public Health Foundation website.

REGISTRATION

Registration opens at 7 a.m. each day of the conference and will be located on the fourth floor of the Sentinel Hotel. To ensure registration runs efficiently and effectively, please keep the following information in mind: 

  • Bring photo ID (license, employee ID, etc.) to confirm your registration and identity. 

  • Attendees must check-in at the registration table each day to claim continuing education credits.

  • Space is limited for personal effects in conference space. Please only bring what you need. 

  • Plan an additional 30 minutes to your commute to allow for Portland traffic and parking.

  • Bring something warm to wear as conference rooms tend to be cooler.

CANCELLATIONS & TRANSFERS

Use your email address and Registration Confirmation number to logon to Cvent and modify your Registration. Cancellations before Monday, August 12th will receive a 50% refund. Once you've logged into Cvent, click the 'Unregister' button to cancel -or- select 'Substitute Registration' from the 'More Options' drop-down menu to transfer your registration to someone else. 

CONFERENCE MATERIALS

Upon checking-in, you will be provided a Northwest Immunization Conference Attendee Packet, Identification badge, and Immunize Oregon branded materials. Badges must be worn throughout the entirety of the event and in all areas reserved for the Northwest Immunization Conference. Day-of registration will be provided a temporary badge until a permanent badge can be made. Please remember to bring your conference attendee packet and badge with you to each day of attendance. Attendee packets were printed based on the number registered at the time of creation, and any lost or misplaced attendee packets may not be replaceable.

SPEAKER QUESTIONS

Each speaker session will have a 10 minute Q&A portion. Due to the volume of attendees, questions for the speaker will be submitted digitally using the Meeting Pulse platform. During the presentation, submit questions for speakers by entering meet.ps/attendee/nwic19 into your web browser or vote up questions submitted by other attendees. Questions will be answered as time permits, starting with the highest ranking submission. This platform will also be used to engage the audience in their experiences with immunization practices and vaccine hesitancy within their practice.

Sentinel is easily accessible by the Portland Streetcar, Trimet MAX light rail, and bus lines. With adult fares at $2.50, the MAX Light Rail is a convenient way of getting around. Take the MAX Red Line and take the Galleria/SW 10th Ave stop, a block away from the Sentinel Hotel. Coordinate your travel using the TriMet’s Trip Planner.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

A variety of healthcare professionals may be eligible to earn continuing education for attending the Northwest Immunization Conference. This three-day conference has been approved to provide over 21 continuing education credits! Instructions on how to claim continuing education credits will be provided for all confirmed attendees following the Northwest Immunization Conference (attendees will need to check in each day to claim the continuing education offered)

Day 1 CE:

Legacy Health - Clinical Practice Support has been pre-approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing to provide up to 7.5 hours of free continuing education, CEP 8749. This program is a designated event for pharmacists to receive 7.5 CPE Contact Hours in pharmacy education as approved by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy. Attendees are required to remain for the entire conference day to claim education credits. 

Day 1 CME:

Legacy Health is accredited by the Oregon Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CODE OF CONDUCT

 

 

The three-day Northwest Immunization Conference will bring together over 1200 professionals from a variety of disciplines across the nation. The curriculum will focus on evidence-based immunization topics and sharing of best practices. Agency badges or other ID will be requested upon conference check in. We encourage networking, discussion and will provide specific agenda time for questions. Interruptions, impoliteness, or disruptive behavior will result in forfeit of NWIC registration, hotel fees and dismissal from the event.  

The planning committee, presenters, and funding agencies treat potential or perceived conflicts of interest very seriously. All potential conflicts will be disclosed by presenters and strict limitations exist on any non-educational activities or materials utilized with the clinical education provided at NWIC.
